At 14:30 on January 22, the first pile foundation of the Langhe Grand Bridge on the Wuhan–Shiyan High-Speed Railway, constructed by the Fourth Company of China Railway Seventh Group, was officially spudded, marking the formal start of the main construction of the Langhe Grand Bridge.
The Langhe Grand Bridge on the Wuhan–Shiyan High-Speed Railway is located in Erdaohe Village, Dingjiaying Town, Danjiangkou City, Shiyan City. The bridge has a total length of 1,746.56 meters and crosses the existing Langhe River channel and the Wuhan–Shiyan Expressway. Construction is highly difficult, making it a major, difficult and controlling project in this contract section. At present, the Langhe River is in its dry season, the water level is relatively shallow, and some piers in the water are exposed on the shallow shoals of the river channel. To meet the owner's schedule requirements and the project department's construction milestone arrangements, the project department has worked together to seize the dry season to construct the piers in the water, gradually carrying out construction with the focus on “completing the piers in the water and the continuous beams as priorities.” At present, 9 spans of the steel trestle of the Langhe Grand Bridge, about 102 meters, have been completed, accounting for 9.6% of the total steel trestle works. The official spudding of the bridge pile foundations marks that the construction of the Langhe Grand Bridge has entered the substantive construction stage.
