As a key core technology, the roadheader cutting head was previously mainly procured from external suppliers. To master this core technology and achieve independent production of key components, the company joined forces with the XCMG Research Institute to conduct tackling and testing on the roadheader cutting head, achieving complete success.
This was also the first time in the industry that a two-meter-thick, 50 MPa concrete wall was used for testing. The "live-fire" drill fully demonstrated the reliability of XCMG's product quality. During the test, technical personnel collected various data, including data on the relationship between power changes and torque, as well as the wear of the cutting head picks. In tests on test walls of different hardness set at a predetermined half-meter advance, all parameters of the XCMG independently developed cutting head achieved the intended test results during the testing process.
This test filled the gap in XCMG's theoretical research on roadheader cutting head testing, laying a solid foundation for extending the application of roadheaders in the engineering tunnel industry and enabling XCMG to take another solid step forward on the path of independent R&D.
