On the 1st, the pile cap construction for Pier 27 of the Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge was completed. This is the first side pier caisson foundation pile cap completed for the main navigation channel bridge. The Shanghai-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge is a controlling project of the Shanghai-Nantong Railway. The main bridge adopts a twin-tower cable-stayed design with a main span of 1,092 meters, making it the world's first road-rail dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge to exceed one kilometer. Construction began on March 1, 2014, with a construction period of about five and a half years.
