At the ceremony marking Guizhou Province's achievement of expressway access to every county and the concentrated launch of key transportation projects for 2016, held at the Qingshui River Bridge on the Guiyang-Weng'an Expressway, Chen Min'er, Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee, declared that the goal of expressway access to every county in Guizhou Province has now been fully realized.

December 31 last year was a milestone day in Guizhou's transportation infrastructure construction——on that day alone, six sections including the Guiyang-Weng'an Expressway, Anjiang Expressway, and Daoweng Expressway opened to traffic simultaneously, bringing the province's goal of “expressway access to every county” across its 88 counties to a successful conclusion. Since Guizhou launched its three-year expressway construction campaign at the end of 2012, the total length of expressways open to traffic has reached 5,128 kilometers, and expressway network density has reached 2.9 kilometers per 100 square kilometers, ranking among the top in the western region. The achievement of expressway access for all 88 counties (cities, districts, and special zones) across the province has made Guizhou the first province in the western region to achieve expressway access to every county, and one of the few provinces nationwide to do so. Today, the expressway network running through the entire province covers all five planned industrial parks each worth 100 billion yuan, 10 industrial parks each worth 20 billion yuan, 20 industrial parks each worth 10 billion yuan, and more than 70 national and provincial scenic areas. Expressway access to every county has made Guizhou a “plain of expressways,” laying a solid foundation for the province's social and economic development.
