On December 21, it was learned from the Liuzhou Baisha Bridge Project Department of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group that the construction of the Liuzhou Baisha Bridge is progressing smoothly and the main tower pile foundation construction is about to commence.
　　It is understood that the Liuzhou Baisha Bridge project starts from Yuejin Road in Liubei District in the west and ends at the intersection of Gaoxin Third Road and Haiguan Road in Hedong Area in the east. The road grade is Urban Main Road Class I, with a design speed of 50 km/h. The bridge has a total length of 1920 meters, mainly including a 2×200-meter single-tower double-cable-plane cable-stayed bridge main bridge, a 286-meter east approach bridge, a 280-meter west approach bridge, and approach roads on both sides. The main tower column is shaped like a gate and is composed of twisted spatial curves, with a height of 100 meters. The bridge deck has a total width of 38 meters. The east bank approach road is 310.256 meters long with a road width of 40 meters. The west bank approach road is 643.744 meters long with a road width of 39 meters.
　　According to the project manager, since the construction started on May 6 this year, the project has overcome the impact of rare winter floods in the Liujiang River. Through the joint efforts of all construction personnel, the prototype of the super-large diameter bored pile steel platform for the main bridge has taken shape, and the next step is to commence the main tower pile foundation construction. The main tower pile foundation of this bridge consists of bored piles, totaling 16 piles, each with a diameter of 3 meters and a length of 15 meters, all underwater. In view of the many uncertain geological factors and high difficulty of underwater bored pile construction, the Baisha Bridge Project Department of China Railway Shanghai Engineering Bureau Group has increased training for construction personnel, conducted technical briefings in advance on the construction plan for the lower structure of the main bridge, underwater pile foundation technology, and underwater construction safety technology, and customized processing machinery and equipment according to the construction plan requirements. At the same time, two technicians are assigned to each work face for on-site service to ensure the quality of on-site technical services; four safety officers are on duty in rotation on site to ensure on-site construction safety.
