A few days ago, the reporter learned from Guangdong Railway Construction Investment Group Co., Ltd. that the Engineering Design Appraisal Center of China Railway Corporation recently held a feasibility study review meeting for the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line in Shenzhen.
According to the group's announcement, the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway has a total length of 452.1 kilometers, of which about 317.2 kilometers are within Guangdong Province. The line is designed for a target speed of 350 km/h, with an estimated total investment of 70.664 billion yuan.
It is introduced that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line is located in Jiangxi and Guangdong provinces. It starts from Ganzhou West Station of the Nanchang-Ganzhou Passenger Dedicated Line in the north, passes through Nankang, Xinfeng, Longnan, Dingnan and other counties in Ganzhou City, then enters Heyuan City in Guangdong Province, and goes through Heping County, Longchuan County, Dongyuan County, Heyuan urban area, and then Boluo County, Huicheng District, Huiyang District of Huizhou City to Shenzhen East Station in Shenzhen.
The "Huizhou Rail Transit Planning Revision" (draft) reveals that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway will set up Huizhou East Station (in the Shuikou area in the eastern part of the city) and share the station with the Guangzhou-Shanwei Railway. The Huizhou Development and Reform Bureau, in response to a netizen's inquiry on the online political inquiry platform, stated that the specific station locations of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway have not yet been finally determined. According to the feasibility study report of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway, the line does not pass through Huizhou South Station. According to the reporter's understanding, although the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway passes through three counties (districts) of Boluo, Huicheng, and Huiyang, whether stations will be set up in these three places is still uncertain.
According to Baidu Maps calculations, driving from the Huizhou Municipal Government via Huiyang to Shenzhen East Station, the recommended route is 78.5 kilometers and takes 1 hour and 25 minutes. This route is basically consistent with the planned alignment of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway. If the starting point is set at Shuikou in Huicheng, the route length to Shenzhen East Station is also about 80 kilometers. At a maximum speed of 350 km/h, taking the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway from Huizhou to Shenzhen East Station would take only 14 minutes at the fastest. Even if the actual operating speed varies, it is expected to be between 15 and 30 minutes, saving about one hour compared to current travel modes such as driving and taking regular trains. Of course, the travel time from Shenzhen to Ganzhou, Jiangxi will also be greatly shortened, to less than two hours at the fastest.
It is reported that the Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is an important part of the Beijing-Kowloon Passenger Dedicated Line and an important channel for communication between the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta. It mainly undertakes medium- and long-distance passenger flow between the Pearl River Delta and eastern Guangdong, while also accommodating intercity passenger flow along the line and between eastern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta. The project construction is of great significance for realizing industrial transfer in the Pearl River Delta region, driving the urbanization process along the line, and developing tourism resources along the line.
Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway Expected to Start Next Year and Open in 2020
The Ganzhou-Shenzhen Railway (Ganzhou to Shenzhen Railway), also known as the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line. The Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway is part of the national backbone trunk line—the Beijing-Kowloon Passenger Dedicated Line. It is a high-speed passenger dedicated line planned to alleviate the tight transportation situation between Ganzhou and Shenzhen on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway.
The Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line (Ganzhou-Shenzhen High-Speed Railway) was originally planned to start construction at the end of 2015 and be completed in 2020. On January 18, 2015, the pre-feasibility study review meeting of the Ganzhou-Shenzhen Passenger Dedicated Line was held in Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. At the meeting, the review team of China Railway Corporation preliminarily agreed that the dedicated line would be 420 kilometers long with a design speed of 350 km/h.
