On the morning of December 18, it was learned from the Laoshan District Transportation Bureau that the Shenliao Interchange project, with an investment of approximately 446 million yuan, officially began closed construction at 12:00 noon on the 17th. The total construction period is 40 months. Once completed, it will effectively alleviate the severe congestion at the interchange node of Liaoyang East Road and Qingyin Expressway. Due to the project, some sections of Liaoyang East Road have been closed since last night.
According to the plan, the Shenzhen Road–Liaoyang East Road Interchange construction project starts from the construction endpoint of the Haier Road Interchange in the west and extends east to the standard section of Liaoyang East Road where the eastbound on/off ramps of the Qingyin Expressway merge, with a length of about 1.4 km. A bridge will be built at the Shenzhen Road intersection to cross Liaoyang East Road, with a length of about 400 meters. The project will be constructed in three phases in sync with the start time of Metro Line 2 and the greening relocation time, and will be synchronized with the Qingdao East Bus Station Metro transfer station of Metro Lines 2 and 4.
Due to the project, the road at the intersection of Shenzhen Road and Liaoyang East Road will be partially closed. Several bus routes will be adjusted. Among them, bus routes 19, 462, 607, 609, 611, and 625, which run straight south-to-north on Shenzhen Road and turn left onto Liaoyang Road from Qingdao East Bus Station, will depart from the west side of Shenzhen Road and resume their original routes via Shenzhen Road, Tong'an Road, Haier Road, and other roads. Routes 375 and 606, which pass through Qingdao East Bus Station, will resume their original routes via Shenzhen Road, Tong'an Road, and Haier Road.
The construction of the Liaoyang East Road–Shenzhen Road Interchange project will achieve rapid connectivity among Liaoyang East Road, Qingyin Expressway, and Shenzhen Road, greatly alleviating traffic congestion in this area.
