On December 10, the commencement ceremony for Yueyang City's third batch of major projects in 2015 was held.
This month, Yueyang will successively start construction on four major projects: Yueyang Sanhe Airport, the Dongting Lake Museum, the Zhuye green transformation and upgrading project, and the Shenhua Guohua Huarong Power Plant. These four projects involve a total investment of 16.913 billion yuan, with an average investment of 4.228 billion yuan per project.
Yueyang Sanhe Airport, which officially began construction on the 10th, is located at the intersection of Qunxian Village in Sanhe Township, Zhenli Village and Sandian Village in Xitang Town, and Xinhe Village in Kangwang Township, all within the Yueyang Economic and Technological Development Zone. It is about 18 kilometers from the urban area. The project involves a total investment of 1.239 billion yuan and is planned to "4D" standards and built to "4C" standards. The project covers 2,273 mu of construction land, with a runway 2,600 meters long and a terminal building with a floor area of 15,000 square meters. By 2020, it is expected to handle 600,000 passengers, 1,800 tons of cargo and mail, and 6,450 aircraft movements annually. Within a 1.5-hour drive, the airport can cover more than 23 million people in the areas around Dongting Lake, the Jianghan Plain, and the adjacent regions of Hunan, Hubei, and Jiangxi. Once completed, it will create highly favorable conditions for Yueyang's development of air cargo and airport-related industries.
