On December 9, the reporter learned from the Lanzhou New Area Management Committee that the New Area's first pedestrian overpass is under accelerated construction. The foundation pile work for the overpass has now been completed, and once the overpass is built, the New Area will end its history of having no pedestrian overpass.

The pedestrian overpass is located at the South Gate of Rainbow City, where Jingjiu Road crosses the Weiyi Road intersection, and connects with the "Ruiling International" building. According to Yu Haixiong, deputy director of the Infrastructure Division of the New Area Urban Investment Company, the overpass is a steel-structure single-tower, single-cable-plane cable-stayed bridge with a tower-girder fixed system. Its total length is 167.25 meters. The main girder of the main bridge uses steel box girders. The cable tower is a single-column type along the bridge direction and has a "pipa" shape in the transverse direction, intended to highlight the Gansu local cultural feature of the "flying apsaras with pipa." Once the pedestrian overpass is completed, it will ease traffic pressure at the intersection of Jingjiu Road and Weiyi Road and play an important role in improving the urban environment, reducing traffic hazards, and ensuring the travel safety of Rainbow City residents.
