On November 8, the Qianhai Integrated Transport Hub project in Shenzhen, undertaken by the Guangzhou Company under China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Corp., Ltd., broke ground.

The project is currently the largest integrated transport hub in Asia, with a site area of about 10 hectares, a total underground floor area of about 420,000 square meters, and a construction cost of about 4.5 billion yuan.

Located at the intersection of Shenzhen's southern urban development belt and the western development axis of the "Hong Kong-Shenzhen-Dongguan-Guangzhou" metropolitan area on the east bank of the Pearl River, the project is expected to complete all civil engineering works below ground level by 2020, which will help accelerate the construction of the Qianhai urban center and the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade New City in Shenzhen.
