In 2015, the certificates for the quality management system, environmental management system, and occupational health and safety assurance system of Sunward Equipment Co., Ltd. expired. In order to improve the company's management level, company leaders decided to change the certification body for this recertification audit from the domestic brand China Quality Certification Center (CQC) to the internationally renowned British Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
From May 11 to 15, four LRQA auditors conducted an audit of Sunward's quality management system and environmental management system, and a stage-one audit of the occupational health and safety assurance system; from August 12 to 14, three LRQA auditors conducted a stage-two audit of the company's occupational health and safety assurance system. The audit covered all departments and production and operation activities of the company. The LRQA auditors were "rigorous, impartial, and flexible," conducting a "diagnosis" of the company's production and operation activities. They issued nonconformities for common problems existing in multiple departments discovered during the audit. The responsible departments of the company analyzed the causes of the nonconformities, formulated corrections and corrective actions, and actively carried out rectification. After confirmation by the audit team, LRQA issued the three-system certificates for quality, environment, and occupational health to Sunward.
It is reported that Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lloyd's Register (LR). LR was founded in 1760 and is the world's first ship classification and inspection organization, as well as one of the oldest companies in the UK. With a long history, LR is a globally renowned authoritative organization providing third-party independent inspection, supervision, and certification.
LRQA was established in 1985, inheriting LR's fine traditions and enjoying a high reputation in the industry. LRQA is the first certification body accredited by the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS), with accreditation covering all industries, and has obtained accreditation from the accreditation bodies of major industrial countries worldwide. More than two-thirds of the Global 500 companies have their quality management system certification certificates issued by LRQA. It is not easy for the company to successfully obtain the three-system certificates for quality, environment, and occupational health issued by LRQA, and it is indeed a rare honor!
