On August 13, renowned central enterprises such as CNPC and Sinopec, together with local brand companies such as Beijing Urban Construction and Nuctech, held a central-local enterprise matchmaking exchange in Beijing to build a platform for central and local enterprises to "go global" together. The first batch of three overseas cooperation projects were signed on site, with a total value of nearly $1.2 billion. Among them, the signed wind power project is worth $250 million.
Under the joint organization of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Municipal Government's Office of External Liaison, more than 90 central and local enterprises focused on matchmaking and negotiations in five major fields: contracted engineering, equipment procurement, automobile manufacturing, energy and power, and machinery and electronics. Cooperation intentions covered general contracting and subcontracting of engineering projects, consortia, and joint ventures; procurement and import-export cooperation in building materials, machinery, electronics, automobiles, and other areas.
The cooperation agreements include a bid by China Sinosteel Corporation and Beijing Energy Group to jointly participate in a 500 MW gas power generation project of Indonesia's state electricity company, with a project value of $500 million, as well as a 100 MW wind power project in Pakistan signed by China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation and Orient Group Investment Holding Co., Ltd., with a project value of $250 million. This wind power project is one of the first batch of key projects of the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor" approved by the state.
