The UK government has officially approved the construction of the Dogger Bank Teesside A&B offshore wind farm off the east coast of England. This is another large-scale offshore wind farm following the Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A&B offshore wind project approved in February this year. Both are designed with an installed capacity of 2.4 GW, jointly becoming the world's largest planned offshore wind farm projects at present.

It is reported that the Dogger Bank Teesside A&B offshore wind farm project, like the Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A&B project, is being developed by the Forewind consortium composed of RWE, SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy), Statkraft (Norway's state-owned power company), and Statoil (Norway's state-owned oil company).

According to reports, the two large offshore wind farm projects have a total installed capacity of 4.8 GW and comprise four sub-projects: Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A, Dogger Bank Creyke Beck B, Dogger Bank Teesside A, and Dogger Bank Teesside B, each with an installed capacity of 1.2 GW.

Forewind stated, "The cumulative installed capacity of these two large offshore wind farm projects reaches 4.8 GW, equivalent to all currently operating offshore wind capacity in the UK. In addition, we also plan to build two new sub-projects, Dogger Bank Teesside C and D, with an installed capacity of 2.4 GW, but these projects are still under study."
