一般在挖掘装载机上可以看到的其他附加部件包括后轮后面的两个稳定支脚。这些支脚对挖掘机的操作至关重要。当挖掘机执行挖掘作业时，支脚可以吸收重量的冲击。如果没有稳定支脚的话，重型负载物的重量或者挖地时产生的向下力将会损伤轮毂和轮胎，并且整个拖拉机会不断地弹起。稳定支脚能使拖拉机保持稳定，并将挖掘机挖掘时产生的冲击作用力减至最小。稳定支脚还可以固定拖拉机，使之不致于滑到沟渠或洞穴中去。
