尚义县境内花岗岩储量丰富，南壕堑镇、红土梁镇等周边地区具有多处开采价值较大的石材资源，不仅花纹稳定均匀，色调和谐，光泽鲜明，而且质地坚硬细腻，可加工成各种规格的板材。
6月30日，台湾石材项目考察团到我县考察，并举行石材工业园项目签约仪式。县领导孙海东、张存英、郑晓东、李建军、邢登顺、侯福海出席签约仪式。在签约仪式上，县委书记孙海东发表热情洋溢的讲话。我县黑色玄武岩、花岗岩、浮石、紫砂页岩、硅藻土等矿产资源储量丰富，开发前景广阔。
