Huangjinba Sluice Station is a key project for conveying flowing water to the western water system. On January 6, reporters learned during an on-site visit that after several consecutive months of construction, the Huangjinba Sluice Station reconstruction project has completed the construction of the base slab, sluice channel, and station building, and the construction progress has passed the halfway mark.

On the morning of that day, reporters arrived at a location about 80 meters west of the old Huangjinba Sluice and saw that a dam had been built on the Hangou River to the west of the site, and workers were busy dredging the river channel east of the dam to clear obstacles for the sluice station construction. On both sides of the Hangou River, more than 300 maintenance piles and foundation piles have been completed. After the pile foundations are completed, the foundation construction of the sluice station will begin. Once completed, this sluice station will become the largest sluice station in the urban area at present.

According to reports, the Huangjinba Sluice Station expansion project adopts a layout with a pump station and a boat-passing lock arranged side by side, with the pump house on the north side and a medium-sized lock on the south side. After the new sluice station is completed, small boats such as painted pleasure boats will be able to pass through. In the future, painted pleasure boats on the ancient canal and Slender West Lake will be able to travel from Slender West Lake through the northern waterway to the ancient canal, and painted pleasure boats on the ancient canal will also be able to enter the Slender West Lake scenic area through this waterway, thereby adding a new water tourism route.
