While ensuring construction safety and engineering quality, the builders are braving the severe cold to speed up construction through the night. At present, the overall bridge project is progressing smoothly, with the pouring of 6 reinforced concrete bridge piles completed, and work on the bridge deck, bent caps, and the underpass tunnels on the north and south sides of the bridgehead is also proceeding simultaneously.

　　24-hour construction: workers fully geared up
　　On the morning of the 24th, at the Anchang Bridge reconstruction project construction site, the reporter saw that large machinery such as punching machines and rotary drilling rigs were operating at full power, and dozens of construction workers were distributed at various work points, intensively carrying out pile foundation punching and concrete pouring for the new bridge. In the center and on both sides of the river channel, the old bridge piles have been removed and replaced by 6 newly poured reinforced concrete bridge abutments. Pile foundation punching and concrete pouring for the remaining bridge piles are proceeding simultaneously, and the underpass tunnels at the bridgehead north and south connecting with Binhe North Road and Binhe South Road have begun to take shape.
　　“Nighttime temperatures have been relatively low recently, but to ensure project progress, we still insist on 24-hour uninterrupted construction and have also distributed cold-weather cotton coats to the workers.” The person in charge of the construction site introduced that to ensure the construction schedule, they operate in two shifts per day. Considering the lower nighttime temperatures, they try to provide ginger soup to workers while arranging machinery operations. At present, the bridge support pile construction is nearing completion, more than 30% of the bent caps have been completed, and more than half of the main structure pouring for the underpass tunnels at both ends of the bridge has been completed. The project overall is progressing smoothly on schedule.
　　Wearing four or five layers of clothing, with hats, earmuffs, gloves, and other gear all deployed, this is the workers’ nighttime “standard equipment.” “Although it has been a bit cold recently, fortunately there has been no rain, so the impact on construction is not significant.” Worker Yang Jianguo told the reporter that the cold weather has the greatest impact on “wet work,” especially when pouring concrete, when extra attention must be paid to keeping warm, and if necessary, early-strength agents and antifreeze agents must be added to ensure engineering quality.

　　Noise and vibration reduction: construction methods changed for nearby residents
　　“All work must be completed before next year’s flood season. The schedule is tight and the task is heavy, and noise during construction is unavoidable. We hope residents will understand and support us.” A relevant person in charge of the Municipal Key Projects Office said that to ensure urban flood control safety and traffic order, the schedule for the Anchang Bridge reconstruction project is very tight, and the construction contractor is carrying out round-the-clock construction operations. The intensive construction and continuous nighttime work have generated noise, vibration, and dust, which have affected residents’ travel and especially the normal life of residents around Anchang Bridge, and they express deep apologies for this.

According to the project progress, the support pile construction, which currently generates relatively high noise and vibration, is expected to be completed in the near future, after which the impact on residents’ lives will gradually diminish.
