China Deep Foundation Engineering Network News: The National Development and Reform Commission has recently officially approved the feasibility study report for the Jiayan Water Conservancy Hub and Northwest Guizhou Water Supply Project, marking that the largest water conservancy hub project in Guizhou Province's history in terms of investment and scale has been officially included in the central investment plan and entered the implementation stage. The total investment of the project is 16.879 billion yuan. Upon completion, it will provide water for production and domestic use to parts of Bijie and Zunyi, two important prefecture-level cities, and effectively solve the problem of insufficient water resource allocation capacity in northwest Guizhou. The Jiayan Water Conservancy Hub and Northwest Guizhou Water Supply Project is located in the middle reaches of the Liuchong River, a first-level tributary of the Wu River in the Yangtze River Basin, and consists of the water source project, the Bida Water Supply Project, and the irrigation district main water conveyance project. The catchment area above the dam site is 4,312 square kilometers. The water-retaining structure is a concrete face rockfill dam with a maximum dam height of 154 meters and a total reservoir capacity of 1.325 billion cubic meters. It is a large (1) type Class I water conservancy hub project. The total investment of the project is 16.879 billion yuan, and the total construction period is 66 months. The project is the leading project of Guizhou's "Three Major Water Conservancy Campaigns" and the largest comprehensive water resource allocation project in the province, with an average annual water supply of 693 million cubic meters, exceeding the current annual water supply capacity of Guiyang's urban area plus Gui'an New Area. After the project is completed, the designed irrigation area using water diverted from the Jiayan Reservoir will be 904,200 mu, and all of Bijie except Weining will be beneficiary areas. The irrigation district main water conveyance project consists of six main canals: the Main Canal, North Main Canal, South Main Canal, Jinzun Main Canal, Qianxi Branch Main Canal, and Jinsha Branch Main Canal, with a total length of 280.97 kilometers.
