Representatives of the construction unit of Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I Project pledge at the groundbreaking site of Yinxian Avenue Station at the intersection of Tiantong Road and Yinxian Avenue.

At about 9:40 a.m. on December 23, at the square on the southwest side of the intersection of Tiantong North Road and Yinxian Avenue in Yinzhou District, Ningbo, the first shovel of soil was dug by a trenching machine, marking the official start of construction of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I Project.

　　Ningbo Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I Project is the first project to start construction under Ningbo's second-round rail transit construction plan, and is also a north-south trunk line connecting the central area of Yinzhou, the core area of Jiangdong and the Jiangbei District. The line starts from Chenpoduo Station in Yinzhou District in the south and ends at Datongqiao Station in Jiangbei District in the north, with a total length of about 16.72 kilometers. It includes one vehicle depot and 15 underground stations. The estimated total investment approved in the preliminary design is 14.87 billion yuan, and the project is scheduled to be completed and put into trial operation in 2019.

　　At present, the total mileage of rail transit in Ningbo that has been built and is under construction has reached 88.82 kilometers. After the completion of Ningbo Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I Project, it will form the main framework of Ningbo rail transit's "three main and three auxiliary" lines together with Line 1 and Line 2.

　　The construction of key projects is an important support for promoting steady and healthy economic development under the current new normal of the economy. This year, Ningbo is expected to implement 447 key construction projects, including Rail Transit Line 3 Phase I Project, and complete an investment of 130 billion yuan in key projects.
