The Moon Island River Crossing (Chibi Road Bridge) is a key project in the central urban area of Lu'an City for 2014. The Chibi Road Bridge is a twin-tower, double-cable-plane low-tower cable-stayed bridge, comprising the main bridge and north and south approach bridges, with a total length of 840.771 m, of which the bridge length is 762 m and the road length is 78.771 m. The main bridge is 46 m wide, and the approach bridges are 38 m wide. The road is designed as an urban arterial road with dual-direction six lanes, with non-motorized vehicle lanes and sidewalks on both sides. The approach bridges use simply supported then continuous small box girders. The main bridge tower foundation adopts the form of a pile cap with a pile group, while the remaining piers use column piers with pile foundations. Both ends of the bridge connect the planned Chibi Road and Zongsan Road, and it is an important component of the urban road network connecting the western new district.
