The Yellow River Grand Bridge on the Huangda Railway, located in Lijin County, Dongying City, has now fully entered construction of pile foundations, steel temporary bridges, and steel platforms. Pile foundation construction is expected to be fully completed by the end of this year, and superstructure construction will be launched in full next year.
The Huangda Railway is a connecting line between the northern coal transport corridor and the Jiaoji Railway, and is part of the Bohai Rim railway network. Once completed, it will form a railway corridor around the Bohai Bay and the Shandong Peninsula together with the Dalailong, Longyan, and Huangwan lines, and is of great significance for accelerating the development of the Yellow River Delta, promoting the construction of “Maritime Shandong,” and shaping the large transportation network of the Bohai Rim economic circle. The newly built main line of the Huangda Railway is 231 kilometers long, with construction standards of National Railway Class I, single-track electrification, and reserved conditions for double tracking. The maximum speed is 120 kilometers per hour, and the designed long-term freight capacity is 40 million tons per year, with 2 pairs of passenger trains per day. The project mainly includes subgrade, bridge and culvert, track, and station works. The Huangda Railway starts from Huanghua South Station of the Shuohuang Railway in the north, runs south through Cangzhou City in Hebei Province and Binzhou City in Shandong Province, enters Lijin County in Dongying City, crosses the Yellow River near Datianjia in Lijin County, and connects southeast to Dajiawa Station of the Yiyang Railway. The Huangda Railway is planned to start full construction in 2015, among which the main bridge project of the Yellow River Bridge has already taken the lead in starting construction, and foundation construction of the main bridge is currently underway. The bridge is 1,183 meters long and is expected to be completed in 2016.
