According to foreign media reports, as wind energy continues to expand rapidly in Brazil, renewable energy developers will invest 7 billion US dollars (approximately 42.98 billion yuan) in Brazil's wind power sector this year.
According to the Brazilian Wind Energy Association Abeeolica, the wind power sector must overcome supply chain concerns to ensure the successful implementation of new projects.
The supply chain issue is an emerging challenge, but we must overcome it quickly. "Last year, we sold 4.7 GW of wind power, which means we have to manufacture equipment. The development of the production chain may be the aspect we must prioritize," said Elbia Melo, president of the Brazilian Wind Energy Association. Previously, Brazil's federal energy planning company EPE stated that by 2024, wind power's share of the national grid will increase from the current 4% to 11%.
According to government data, currently, installed wind power capacity exceeds 5 GW, while Brazil's expected installed capacity is 130 GW. More investment this year will further drive the development of Brazil's wind power sector.
