Changing with each passing day—this is the deep impression almost everyone who has recently visited the Xiangtan Tianyi Demonstration Zone shares. A large number of road projects such as Wuguang Avenue, Furong Avenue, and Tianyi Highway have already begun construction or are taking initial shape in the Tianyi Demonstration Zone; at the same time, industrial projects such as Zhujiang Brewery, the Agricultural Products Deep Processing Park, and the Hongxin Innovation Industrial Park are also advancing side by side in the zone.

This year's major project construction efforts will expand capacity and improve quality in the Tianyi Demonstration Zone, and will also lay a solid foundation for the park to join the ranks of "hundred-billion-yuan parks" at an early date. 37 newly started projects, 16 continued projects, 53 projects planned for completion for the year, and a planned investment of approximately 5.06 billion yuan, of which engineering construction investment is approximately 2.71 billion yuan—this is the construction task list issued by the Xiangtan Tianyi Demonstration Zone this year.

Industrial projects are another major focus of the Tianyi Demonstration Zone's construction. This year, a total of 11 industrial projects in the zone have been included in the scope of municipal key projects, among which Zhujiang Brewery, the Agricultural Products Deep Processing Park, and the Hongxin Innovation Industrial Park are on the list.

"Now, there are some large orders we can no longer take on," said Li Jianqiu, chairman of Hunan Teda Tianyi Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., in a recent interview. Orders received this year are about to exceed 200 million yuan, and the schedule is fully booked from now until the end of the year.

Teda Tianyi Heavy Industry is not a large enterprise, covering only 30 mu of land. It officially began production in August last year. Its flagship products are hydraulic static pile presses and new-type long spiral drilling rigs, and it owns multiple patented technologies.

"The current economic adjustment has hit some enterprises, but it has had little impact on small and medium-sized enterprises like ours that have independent technologies," Li Jianqiu said. Their company invests 5%–6% of sales revenue in research and development each year and also has its own construction team. Every time a new technology is introduced, it must first be trial-tested by their own construction team and only promoted after it has matured.

"Next year, our output value is expected to exceed 300 million yuan," Li Jianqiu said. Because the production outlook is promising, the company also plans to buy another plot of land in the Tianyi Demonstration Zone and start phase II construction.
