On August 20, 2014, the Prefabricated Steel Structure Civil Building Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, led by Baosteel Group, joined hands with 8 member units to convene the "Preparatory Meeting for the Release of the Prefabricated Steel Structure Civil Building Industry Alliance System" in Liyang, Jiangsu. The Alliance Secretariat decided that alliance experts would publicly release the new-generation prefabricated housing system——"Alliance No.1 · Baohouse"——for the first time at the 2014 Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition.

     As the ancients said, the Ren meridian governs blood and the Du meridian governs qi; they are the main meridians of the human body's meridian system. If the Ren and Du meridians are unblocked, then the eight meridians are unblocked; if the eight meridians are unblocked, then all meridians are unblocked, thereby improving physical constitution, strengthening sinews and bones, and promoting circulation. This move by Baosteel Group has clearly demonstrated its determination for transformational change: continuously optimizing resource allocation, enhancing innovation capability, and extending the industrial chain—first unblocking the "Ren meridian" within the alliance enterprises, then unblocking the "qi meridian" of the prefabricated steel structure civil building market—to continuously make the alliance bigger and stronger and become a driver and leader in the development of China's building industrialization.

 The Alliance's Origin and Mission

      In the era of "high cost, low efficiency" and thin profits in the steel industry, Baosteel Group realized early on that it must extend the industrial chain around its main steel business and continuously explore new growth points. On July 18, 2011, Baosteel Building System Integration Co., Ltd. was officially inaugurated in Shanghai, marking Baosteel Group's increased efforts to expand in the steel structure housing sector. In the same year, the Prefabricated Steel Structure Civil Building Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the "Alliance"), initiated by Baosteel Group, was officially established, creating one of China's strongest steel structure civil building industrial chains. In October 2013, the Alliance was listed as a national industrial technology innovation strategic pilot alliance (Guokefa Ti [2013] No. 632), becoming the only national-level pilot alliance in the steel structure building field specifically focused on prefabricated buildings. The Alliance has always been committed to promoting building industrialization, prefabricated buildings, and green buildings, providing strong support for the development of member units. At present, the Alliance is already China's largest building system integrator, bar none.

 Plan Before Acting——Hoist the Alliance's Sails to Lead the Prefabricated Civil Building Industry

      Also in 2011, prefabricated buildings began to set off wave after wave of development across the country. Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, and many other places issued multiple policies, making the promotion of building industrialization the primary task of green building development. In the Yangtze River Delta region, the construction speed and cost control of prefabricated housing have undoubtedly become the key to competition, and this is precisely where steel structures have their greatest advantage. The Prefabricated Steel Structure Civil Building Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance will join hands with 8 member units to release for the first time at the 2014 Shanghai International Building Industrialization Exhibition its "breakout work"——the new-generation prefabricated housing system "Alliance No.1 · Baohouse."

      At the exhibition site, the Alliance will use BIM technology to comprehensively display Baohouse's advanced prefabricated technology and construction methods. Ye Chao, Marketing Director of Baosteel Building System Integration Co., Ltd., stated that this is not only the starting point of sincere cooperation across the entire alliance; we also hope, through the exhibition platform and in conjunction with a series of brand promotion and event planning, to make a strong entry into the prefabricated civil building market and build the Alliance into a driver and leader of China's building industrialization and informatization.
