Danyang Tower in Danzhou
According to the latest statistics from the Danzhou Key Project Office and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, from January to June this year, Danyang Tower completed an investment of 52.5 million yuan, accounting for 131% of the annual planned investment. At present, Danyang Tower has topped out, and follow-up works are being stepped up.
Following the classic format of ancient pavilion architecture, Danyang Tower features a vertical terraced layout style of "five visible stories, seven hidden stories" and will become a landmark landscape of Danzhou upon completion. It is understood that the project has a total investment of more than 100 million yuan, covers about 22 mu, and has a total floor area of 13,600 square meters, including 5,930 square meters underground and 7,670 square meters above ground. After completion, Danyang Tower will house the Danzhou Museum, the Danzhou History Exhibition Hall, an international chess training base, calligraphy and painting rooms, and more.
As a new cultural tourism attraction in Danzhou, Danyang Tower is part of the Danyang Forest Park scenic area. The entire forest park takes Danyang Tower as its main scenery and integrates the surrounding natural scenery and cultural landscapes. When composing poems and couplets, literati were fond of referring to Danzhou as Danyang. In the Ming Dynasty, Lao Ao wrote in "Climbing the Zaijiu Hall": "Danyang's scenery in summer is like spring; the scholar's hall opens by the miasma-ridden seaside." In the Qing Dynasty, Wen Guandou wrote in "Eight Scenes in One Poem": "Danyang's spring colors rival Heyang's; the green-tinted pine forest is all the more fragrant at dusk." Today, Danyang Road, Danyang Street, and other places named after "Danyang" are well known to the people of Danzhou.
