The 64 railway projects planned for investment this year will all be approved by the end of August, and a new wave of railway construction is arriving.
According to an exclusive report from authoritative sources, 22 of the 64 projects have already been approved, and another 22 that can still be adjusted and arranged will be approved by the end of June (some have not yet been announced). In addition, 20 new projects have been added, all of which will be fully approved by the end of August.
Equipment bidding is also heating up
A source from CSR Corporation previously said that China Railway Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "CRC") is currently planning intensive bidding, and it is expected that large-scale bidding for related equipment will be launched at the same time as the railway construction wave. According to the source, bidding announcements for about 55 billion yuan of equipment have been issued in the past two months, and another 50 billion yuan is expected to be announced soon.
CRC launches the first EMU bidding of the year, with a scale of 60 billion yuan
China Railway Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CRC) will launch its first EMU (electric multiple unit) bidding of the year in the near future, with a quantity of about 300 trains and a total scale of about 60 billion yuan. This bidding is also the first public bidding for 350 km/h-class EMUs launched by CRC since the "7·23" accident.
A second round of bidding may be launched within the year
It is understood that the EMUs in this bidding are divided into two classes, with about 190 trains of 350 km/h-class EMUs and about 110 trains of 250 km/h-class EMUs. The source close to CRC also disclosed that the 250 km/h-class EMUs include 10 sets of cold-resistant EMUs and 10 sets of sandstorm-resistant EMUs. Among them, the 10 sets of cold-resistant EMUs will be allocated to the Harbin Railway Bureau and the Shenyang Railway Bureau, and the 10 sets of sandstorm-resistant EMUs will be delivered to the Lanzhou Railway Bureau and the Urumqi Railway Bureau.
This bidding is CRC's first EMU bidding in 2014 and its second rolling stock bidding. On April 25 this year, CRC launched bidding for all vehicle types except EMUs, with a total bidding price of 20.310 billion yuan. Earlier, on August 16, 2013, CRC publicly tendered for 91 EMUs, but all of them were 250 km/h-class EMUs.
The source said that the quantity in this bidding exceeds the expectation of 280 trains at the beginning of the year, and all 300 EMUs will still be procured through public bidding and competitive negotiation.
