In large mining areas in northwest and northeast China, more than ten XCMG XE900C excavators serve as the main force for resource extraction. Since its launch, the XE900C has won user favor with its high reliability, high efficiency and low fuel consumption, breaking the pattern of complete foreign-brand monopoly in this tonnage class of hydraulic excavators.

The XE900C is a large hydraulic excavator independently developed by XCMG and the first among domestic excavator manufacturers to achieve volume sales. The product adopts XCMG's self-developed adaptive real-time adjustable energy-saving control technology, giving the whole machine advantages in efficiency and fuel consumption over foreign-brand models of the same tonnage. It has made breakthroughs in core technologies such as digital thermal balance control for high-power engines and hydraulic systems and the manufacturing of large key structural components, and has obtained 25 patents, including 4 invention patents.

Large mining excavators are mainly used in open-pit mining. Because of the complex working environment and high-load operating intensity, they place stringent requirements on product advancement and reliability, and set high comprehensive demands on a company's technical strength, manufacturing capability and service capability.
