On the 2nd, the Beijing Energy Conservation Supervision Team conducted on-site supervision and evidence collection at Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd. and four other companies that exceeded their carbon emission quotas and failed to fulfill their obligations as required, marking that Beijing has officially launched penalty procedures against companies that exceeded their quotas and failed to fulfill their obligations as required. These companies are expected to receive penalty notices in about two weeks.

On that day, at Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd., Parkson Commercial Development Co., Ltd., Beijing Uni-President Drinks Co., Ltd., Beijing Hyundai Mobis Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., and Beijing CBRE Property Management Services Co., Ltd., the Beijing Energy Conservation Supervision Team, in accordance with administrative enforcement procedures, served the "Energy Conservation Supervision Notice" on site and filled out the "Energy Conservation Supervision Registration Form" and "Investigation Inquiry Record." Data show that last year Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd. exceeded its carbon emission quota by more than 400 tons, Parkson Commercial Development Co., Ltd. exceeded its quota by more than 500 tons, and Beijing CBRE Property Management Services Co., Ltd. exceeded its quota by more than 10,000 tons. After a series of enforcement procedures, the Energy Conservation Supervision Team will impose penalties based on the amount of carbon emissions exceeding the permitted quota range, at 3 to 5 times the average market price.
