On July 1, the China Securities Regulatory Commission issued an administrative licensing announcement titled 'Review Workflow for Initial Public Offerings by the Issuance Supervision Department and Status of Applicant Enterprises,' stating that 32 companies, including Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd., Huishang Bank, and Poly Culture Group, had their reviews terminated because they failed to submit pre-disclosure materials as required by the rules and because the financial information in their application documents had exceeded its validity period by three months.

Subsequently, on July 2, the Wanda Group confirmed this on the official website of Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd., which is still pending establishment. In its announcement titled 'Explanation Regarding the Termination of Review for Wanda Commercial Properties' A-Share Listing,' it stated that, according to the CSRC announcement on July 1, the A-share listing of Wanda Commercial Properties had been terminated from review because its filing materials had not been updated.

“We thank the regulatory authorities, shareholders, and all sectors of society for their attention over the past four years during the preparation for our A-share listing,” Wanda said in the announcement, expressing gratitude to the relevant parties. Wanda also stated, “In the future, we will continue to actively explore various listing channels.”

This means that the plan of Dalian Wanda Commercial Properties Co., Ltd. to list in mainland China has temporarily fallen through.

Public reports show that Wang Jianlin, chairman of the Wanda Group, mentioned at the group's internal annual meeting earlier this year that in 2014 the company would make every effort to push two target companies to complete listings: its cinema line business, then in the IPO queue, and its commercial real estate business, then in preliminary review.

According to information publicly disclosed by the Wanda Group, in 2013 Wanda Commercial Properties generated revenue of 145.62 billion yuan, completing 106% of its plan and up 32% year on year. Among this, it added 4.119 million square meters of investment property, up 31% year on year, bringing its cumulative investment property holdings to 17.039 million square meters and maintaining its position as the world's second largest.

In fact, although the Wanda Group is currently one of the leading Chinese real estate enterprises by scale that has not yet completed an overall listing, it already owns two overseas listed platforms, including the Hong Kong-listed Henderson Commercial Properties acquired last year and AMC Theatres, which it acquired in 2012 and which listed on the New York Stock Exchange at the end of last year.
