At around 10:45 a.m. on May 28, the entire floor of a building materials store housed in a single-story building at No. 100 Minzhong Street, Harbin, collapsed, and three customers fell into the deep pit.

At around 11:00, the reporter saw at the scene that a rope had been put up in front of the store, and several men claiming to be managers of the market where the building materials store is located were inspecting the site. The reporter noted that the store floor and building materials such as wooden battens had all fallen into the large pit, and because the interior was dimly lit, its depth could not be estimated visually.

According to the men claiming to be market managers, they suspect the deep pit beneath the store is an air-raid shelter. The store owner has taken the three injured customers to the No. 211 Hospital of the People's Liberation Army for treatment.

Later, the reporter learned at No. 211 Hospital that the injuries were mostly abrasions and contusions caused by falling from a height. One male injured person, recalling the situation, said the fall height reached 4 to 5 meters, and the incident happened so suddenly that it was truly frightening.

At present, the incident is under further investigation and handling.
