Haier Central Air Conditioning R&D Center Building

On May 27, 2014, the Haier Central Air Conditioning R&D Center Building was officially completed at Haier Industrial Park. Its high-drop test tower broke the previous world record held by Japan for the tallest test tower, earning the title of "World's Tallest"; at the same time, following authoritative appraisal by the User Committee of the China Association for Quality and user reputation voting, Haier Central Air Conditioning was officially awarded the "User Satisfaction Innovation Award" on site.

It is understood that the User Committee of the China Association for Quality is China's earliest-established consumer organization and the country's most authoritative and most user-representative inspection platform in the quality field. The "User Satisfaction Innovation Award" represents the true voice of users and is the best expression of a company's product reputation. Yi Hui, Vice President of the China Association for Quality and Director of the User Committee, presented the award to Haier Central Air Conditioning on site. He stated that Haier Central Air Conditioning, starting from the user's perspective, has made continuous efforts in technological disruption and R&D innovation to enhance user satisfaction, and has made outstanding contributions in energy saving, environmental protection, and intelligence for central air conditioning. The completion of this R&D center will become a hub and extension of innovative technologies.

It is learned that the completed Haier Central Air Conditioning R&D Center consists of two main buildings: the R&D building and the world's tallest-drop test tower. It can not only simulate various working conditions and building structures for live experiments and testing, providing optimal building installation solutions, but also conduct R&D and innovation in new technologies such as energy saving, environmental protection, and intelligence. Among them, the R&D building houses an all-weather environmental simulation laboratory, a joint expert laboratory, a noise laboratory, a commercial air conditioning enthalpy difference laboratory, and an air conditioning module user interaction area, etc.; the world's tallest-drop test tower is 106 meters high with 11 floors, breaking the previous record of Japan's 60-meter-tall world's tallest test tower. It can conduct the industry's highest live test, oil return drop test, etc., providing the most effective technical and operational guarantee for the use of central air conditioning in high-rise buildings.

The person in charge of Haier Central Air Conditioning introduced that, to provide users with the best technology and product experience, the R&D center building has created an "ecosystem" aimed at resource cooperation, platform openness, and demand experience, gathering laboratories in related fields jointly established with several top global manufacturers. Global resources such as Honeywell and 3M have also settled in. "Haier Central Air Conditioning always regards user satisfaction as the only criterion for measuring whether a product is successful and whether technology is innovative." In the R&D center, two key R&D technologies leading the industry—'maglev' and 'cloud intelligence'—achieve 50% energy savings while being compatible with HVAC equipment from global brands, meeting 99% of users' various needs for energy saving, environmental protection, and intelligent control.
