Recently, the technical achievement "Key Construction Technology of Dongguan Basketball Center" by China Construction Eighth Engineering Division under China State Construction Engineering Corporation was appraised as reaching the international advanced level. The technology has been successfully applied in the construction of the three-way grid curved cable curtain wall with the largest perimeter and the largest single-unit area in the world.

The achievement mainly includes 15 key technologies such as "form-finding analysis technology for cable nets with complex geometric shapes." Through the promotion and application of various new technologies, it effectively strengthened control over the construction process, ensured construction quality, and greatly shortened the construction period. The project summarized 4 construction methods, including 3 provincial-level construction methods; 9 patents were applied for, and 6 have been authorized.

The technology has been successfully applied to the home venue project of the Dongguan team in the CBA league. The curtain wall of the main gymnasium is a brand-new cable curtain wall form—an annular curved three-way grid single-layer cable net curtain wall. Its structure is a nonlinear large-deformation structure, and it is the three-way grid curved cable curtain wall with the largest perimeter and the largest single-unit area in the world.
