Shandong (Qingdao) International Shipping Center is about to start construction. As the province's first international shipping center, its unique geographical location and deep port background give it a historical mission akin to Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour. Yesterday, the Qingdao Engineering Construction Management Information Network issued an announcement that construction bidding for the A1 plot of the International Shipping Center has begun.
The announcement shows that the A1 plot of the International Shipping Center is located west of Wuyishan Road and north of Binhai Avenue in Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project developer is Shandong Hi-Speed Urban Construction Investment Co., Ltd. The project includes three high-rise buildings, one podium building, and one convention and exhibition center, with a total investment of 1.9 billion yuan, construction and installation cost of 1.2 billion yuan, and a total construction area of 246,000 square meters, including 159,000 square meters above ground.
Teng Junhong, chief engineer of the Municipal Planning Bureau, stated during a recent online discussion that the Shandong (Qingdao) International Shipping Center project is located in the core area of the Development Zone's Central Business District, bounded by Zhujiang Road to the north, Binhai Avenue to the south, Lushan Road to the east, and Wuyishan Road to the west. Through unified planning, integrated underground development, and phased above-ground construction, it will form a shipping service industry belt and landmark building cluster in the West Coast New Area. Currently, the planning and design of various plots within the shipping center area are underway. The part being tendered for construction this time is precisely the Shandong Hi-Speed A1 plot.
It is reported that the Shandong (Qingdao) International Shipping Center has a total investment of approximately 12 billion yuan, covers a total area of 525 mu, and has a planned total construction area of about 1.5 million square meters, with the first phase expected to invest 4 billion yuan.
