A reporter recently learned from relevant departments that, as of the end of 2013, Jiangxi Province had issued a cumulative total of 56.620 billion yuan in personal housing loans, with a loan balance of 33.226 billion yuan. A total of 398,400 employee households improved their housing conditions through provident fund loans, and the housing provident fund has become the first choice for urban employees in purchasing or building homes. Jiangxi Province has consistently managed its housing provident fund in strict accordance with the principles of “decision-making by the housing provident fund management committee, operation by the housing provident fund management center, deposit in special bank accounts, and supervision by the finance department,” enabling sustained and rapid growth in fund collection, loans that help wage earners with housing, more convenient and beneficial withdrawals, and an increasingly prominent housing security function.
