The largest construction machinery exhibition in the Bohai Rim region

The largest and most influential construction machinery exhibition in the Bohai Rim region, the Qingdao International Construction Machinery Exhibition, concluded successfully from June 7 to 9, 2013, at the Qingdao International Convention Center, with both exhibitor and visitor numbers breaking previous records. The 2013 exhibition saw the number of exhibitors rise to 365, an increase of 20% over the previous year, with a total exhibition area of 25,000 square meters, attracting 27,565 visitors, an increase of 20% over 2012.

Shandong is one of China's six major construction machinery production bases. In Jining, Shandong, there are joint ventures such as Shantui, Komatsu Manufacturing, Shandong Heavy Industry Machinery and Eaton; Linyi has Lingong and more than 200 construction machinery and parts manufacturing enterprises above designated size, with annual sales revenue exceeding 30 billion yuan; Qingzhou, led by Caterpillar Shandong Machinery, with core backbone enterprises such as Yatai Machinery, Weimeng Machinery, Luzhen Machinery, and Weili Machinery, has gradually formed a 50 billion-level construction machinery industrial cluster with more than 50 supporting enterprises; Dezhou has Degong; Yantai has Fangyuan Group and the internationally renowned Doosan Construction Machinery Co., Ltd.; Tai'an has South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries and many small and medium-sized construction machinery enterprises; Weifang has Foton Heavy Industry and Weichai; Laiyang has Shandong Hongda Group, etc.

 

Infrastructure construction is the key to China's sustainable economic development. Massive infrastructure projects such as the South-to-North Water Diversion, West-East Gas Pipeline, road construction, airport construction, power station construction, and sewage treatment plant construction will bring business opportunities to the construction machinery industry.
