After five years of design and construction, Nanjing Metro Line 10 recently opened for trial operation. This is the first metro line for which TSI undertook overall design and general contracting in Nanjing.
Line 10 runs 21.6 kilometers in total, with 14 stations, including 10 newly built stations. Although the line is relatively short with few stations, the project was highly difficult to implement: it passes through a mountain, crosses the Yangtze River, and runs beneath an existing operating metro line. It is the country's first single-tube double-track metro line using a large-diameter shield for a river crossing, and it also set multiple firsts for Nanjing——Nanjing's first river-crossing metro line, its first line with platform screen door system stations, its first line using intelligent evacuation in running tunnels, its first line adopting high-pressure water mist protection, and so on.
The trial operation of Line 10 has established TSI's strong brand image in Nanjing as an organization willing to tackle tough battles, crack hard nuts, and confront difficulties head-on, laying a solid foundation for TSI to win subsequent metro line contracts in Nanjing.
Under the leadership of Liu Xuejun, project manager of TSI's Nanjing Metro Project Department, deputy chief engineers of the overall design team Mei Ning, Yao Xinchun, Wang Peng, Wu Liqiao, Zhang Zhiqi, and Liu Yi are actively carrying out various acceptance inspections for Line 10, striving to achieve the line's successful opening in May this year.
