On the morning of February 26, the second SDLG "China Good Driver" public welfare campaign and the founding ceremony of the Construction Machinery Industry "Good Driver" Club were grandly held in Jinan, Shandong. Guo Mingyi, a national moral model; Su Zimeng, Secretary-General of the China Construction Machinery Association; Yu Mengsheng, Executive President of SDLG; Yao Jinjun, Vice General Manager of SDLG; as well as SDLG's dealer team and representatives of construction machinery drivers attended the press conference.

    Dream upgraded: benefiting more workers

    Carrying the hopes of millions of construction machinery operators across the country, and building on the brilliant achievements of 2013, the 2014 "China Good Driver" campaign set sail once again. With a comprehensive upgrade in depth, breadth, and public welfare connotation, it will unfold on more platforms and in broader fields, benefiting more grassroots workers and helping them realize more career aspirations and the Chinese Dream.

    At the press conference, Yu Mengsheng said: "This year, while providing free vocational training, China Good Driver will further lean toward positive energy and public welfare. The 2014 China Good Driver training camps have also specially optimized the training content and assessment direction for those 'good drivers' who have excellent moral character, outstanding deeds, and are recognized by those around them, ensuring that while passing the exam they stand out and have the opportunity to participate in the selection of the 'Annual Top Ten Good Drivers.'"

    In 2014, "China Good Driver" plans to set up 10 city training camps, including Chengdu, Zunyi, and Harbin, covering more provinces than in 2013, and will fully mobilize construction machinery operators in the regions, encouraging all drivers who have not yet obtained the Vocational Qualification Certificate to sign up. Depending on registration, one to three rounds of training and examinations will be held, striving to increase the number of people benefited at each stop. It is expected that more than 6,000 people will participate in the 10 city training camps, double the scale of last year.

    To make trainees' theoretical knowledge more solid, the 2014 "China Good Driver" campaign deliberately moved the training sessions earlier, holding briefing sessions or test-drive events in advance, distributing training materials, explaining key knowledge points, and introducing examination requirements, so that trainees have more sufficient time to study and prepare, thereby increasing the pass rate and supplying more reliable operators to the industry.

    Regarding this public welfare feat in the construction machinery industry, Su Zimeng commented: "In the face of the need for industrial structural transformation and upgrading in the construction machinery industry, the needs of rapidly advancing urbanization, and Chinese construction machinery drivers' desire to improve their skills and quality, China Good Driver has supplied a large number of outstanding talents to the industry and promoted its standardized development. For the construction machinery industry, which is in a period of transformation and upgrading, it is undoubtedly timely rain and a force of positive energy."

    Public welfare baptism: cultivating more good drivers

    In 2013, SDLG joined hands with Guo Mingyi, a national moral model and inheritor of the Lei Feng spirit, to form the "Guo Mingyi Love Team SDLG Branch" and assisted in building a Hope Primary School in Haicheng City in the Liaodong mountainous area. In 2014, the two sides will continue their cooperation, enrich and expand the Guo Mingyi Love Team SDLG Branch, give back to practitioners through public welfare, and, in conjunction with the city training camps, carry out projects such as fundraising, rescue, voluntary blood donation, and emergency response training, highlighting the public welfare character of "China Good Driver." At the press conference, Yu Mengsheng made another commitment on behalf of SDLG: within the year, a "SDLG Guo Mingyi Love Hope Primary School" will be assisted in the Daliang Mountains area of Sichuan. This will be the third Hope Primary School assisted by SDLG.

    In addition, as a communication platform for "China Good Driver" trainees and the broader community of construction machinery operators to study, train, exchange, and help one another, and as an important channel for SDLG to give back to customers and society, the "Good Driver Club"—integrating the "Guo Mingyi Love Team SDLG Branch" and outstanding trainees from the previous China Good Driver campaign—was also officially established at the launch ceremony, and the first batch of membership cards was issued. At the press conference, Yao Jinjun introduced in detail the development direction and plans of the "Good Driver Club," and said that under the organization of SDLG, the "Good Driver Club" will surely develop actively and grow healthily, becoming an outstanding social organization in China that helps grassroots Chinese Dreams and continuously conveys positive energy.

    "China Good Driver" covers multiple dimensions such as customer care, industry standardization, public welfare action, and social value. It pioneered public welfare activities in the industry, created a new path for fulfilling corporate social responsibility, and became a perfect practice of the "Chinese Dream" in the construction machinery industry. In 2014, against the backdrop of an industry downturn and sharply increasing sales pressure, SDLG remained true to its original intention and continued to advance the "China Good Driver" campaign, helping grassroots workers realize their career aspirations and spreading positive energy to society.
