The Central Urbanization Work Conference was held in Beijing and discussed the National New-Type Urbanization Plan; relevant departments will make revisions based on the conference discussions. Xu Shaoshi, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that the National New-Type Urbanization Plan will be promptly revised and improved, and efforts will be made to release and implement it as soon as possible. According to estimates by the China Development Bank, China's urbanization investment and financing demand will reach 25 trillion yuan in the next three years. As a year connecting the past and the future for the construction machinery industry, 2013 also paved the way for a "recovery" in 2014.

According to industry experts, with new-type urbanization, energy conservation and environmental protection, and overseas market expansion, China's construction machinery industry will enter its next golden decade. Industry sales are forecast to maintain steady growth in 2014, with an increase of about 8%. Of course, this is based on an overall analysis of the construction machinery industry; industrial vehicles such as forklifts will continue to maintain rapid growth, while growth in excavators, loaders, and bulldozers will remain at relatively low levels.

In 2014, with the continued progress of China's urbanization, market demand for small and mini excavators will be strong, and this segment's share of the overall excavator market will rise year by year. New-type urbanization will be a huge engine for China's economic growth and will inevitably drive the pace of new rural construction. A large number of rural housing renovations, farmland water conservancy projects, and urban infrastructure construction will all bring unprecedented development space to the construction machinery industry.

The "2013-2017 China Construction Machinery Manufacturing Industry Production and Sales Demand and Investment Strategic Planning Analysis Report" released by the Forward Industry Research Institute shows that in 2014, as China's machinery technology continues to improve and its international visibility continues to expand, overseas infrastructure markets will have increasing demand for construction machinery, and China's construction machinery export market will achieve new successes.

According to industry experts' forecasts, the excavator industry will recover slowly in 2014, with year-on-year growth of 6% expected. In particular, the excavator industry's growth rate in 2013 was low in the first half and high in the second half, and sales in the peak season in the first half of 2014 may exceed expectations.
