In 2013, with the global economic growth slowing down and China's construction machinery market remaining sluggish, the overall performance of Atlas Copco's Mining and Rock Excavation Technique division remained stable.

    Mr. Wen Yangzhi, General Manager of the Customer Center of Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique Greater China, fully affirmed the achievements in regional sales in 2013 and pointed out the development direction during the current period of low market operation. "Although the domestic mining industry situation is severe, the recovery of the construction industry has brought us new opportunities. In the future, we will continue the regional dealership model, explore new application areas for existing products, strengthen market coverage and segmented projects, and jointly explore new business development models," said General Manager Wen Yangzhi.

    In 2013, the Atlas Copco Group continued to maintain healthy profitability, and while maintaining organic growth, it increased its global merger and acquisition investments. In China, Atlas Copco and Shandong Sanshan Group established a joint venture, Shandong Rock Drilling Tools Co., Ltd., further strengthening its market position in drilling tool consumables for the domestic mining and construction sectors.

    In terms of product development, Atlas Copco has successively launched a series of products tailored for Chinese customers. New products such as the Boomer K111 and Boomer K41 drill rigs, Simba K102 mining rig, DM30 II blast hole drill, PowerROC D45 surface drill rig, DHD5 Gold HF hammer, and Boyles C5 surface core drill will be fully introduced to the market, providing customers with more comprehensive product choices.

    Guizhou Komatsu Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. and Beijing Zhongtie Tianrui Engineering Machinery Co., Ltd. Shanxi Branch respectively won the 2013 Sales Champion Award and Sales Growth Award. Looking ahead, Atlas Copco will continue to increase support for regional authorized dealers in market expansion and skills training, comprehensively improving their capabilities in products, services, and sales skills.
