Recently, good news came from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC): the Zhuankou Yangtze River Bridge project on the Fourth Ring Road of Wuhan has passed NDRC approval and obtained the "pass" for construction to begin. Thus, nearly two years of project approval work have come to a successful conclusion.

The Zhuankou Yangtze River Highway Bridge is located between the Baishazhou Yangtze River Bridge and the Junshan Yangtze River Bridge. Its starting point connects to the western section of Wuhan's Fourth Ring Road, with an interchange linking to the Hanhong Expressway in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone. It crosses the Yangtze River through Qingling Township in Hongshan District, with an interchange linking to the Qingzheng Expressway in Jiangxia District, and its endpoint connects to the southern section of the Fourth Ring Road. The total length is 8.583 km, including 3.208 km for the main river-crossing bridge and 5.375 km for the approach works. The main bridge structure is a five-span, single-unit, twin-tower, twin-cable-plane steel box girder cable-stayed bridge, with a main span of 760 meters. The entire line is designed as a dual-direction, eight-lane expressway, with a bridge width of 46 meters, making it the widest bridge over the Yangtze River. Upon completion, it will become Wuhan's ninth river-crossing bridge. The estimated investment is 5.03 billion yuan, and the construction period is 4 years.

Next, the project construction unit will accelerate the processing of the Ministry of Transport's construction permit, the project preliminary design review, the franchise agreement, the Ministry of Land and Resources' land use approval, and administrative licensing procedures for the Yangtze River maritime, navigation channel, and embankment authorities, striving to begin construction as soon as possible.
