After more than six hours of continuous work, the first pile cap of the Haibin Avenue Cross-Sea Bridge was poured, marking that the main works of the cross-sea bridge have officially entered the pile cap construction stage.

The Haibin Avenue Cross-Sea Bridge in Lianyungang City has a total length of 4,482.4 m and a total of 224 pile caps. A pile cap is a reinforced concrete platform connecting bridge piles, linking several or even a dozen piles together to form a pile foundation that bears and distributes the bridge weight transmitted by the piers. The 224 pile caps will connect 1,316 bored cast-in-place piles.

The pile cap poured this time for the cross-sea bridge is the right-side pile cap of Pier 108 on the south approach bridge, 7.5 m long, 6.5 m wide and 2.5 m high, with an arc end radius of 1.25 m, and 120 cubic meters of concrete were poured. The pile cap is deeply buried below the seabed, and the steel sheet pile cofferdam construction technique was adopted.

Through the construction of the first pile cap, all participating personnel gained good construction experience and obtained a large amount of key technical control points, difficulties and solutions for pile cap construction, creating favorable conditions for subsequent construction.
