FD830A型钻机采用三段折叠桅杆，在运输时，底节桅杆上下可折叠，中节桅杆向后折叠，顶节及额头采用向右折叠;此种结构解决了运输和工作时难以快速转速的问题。其次，采用大三角后背式结构，稳定性要比四连杆式桅杆提高很多。后背式桅杆加十字铰接轴，使得桅杆较便于左右调整。后背结构使得运输尺寸大大减小，从而降低了运输难度及成本。
