Recently, Caterpillar unveiled its all-new rugged feature phone, the Cat B100, at CES.

Caterpillar is a world-renowned manufacturer of large machinery, primarily producing trucks, construction equipment, and other machinery. The Cat B100 supports IP67 protection rating and also meets MIL 810G standards, meaning it is not only completely dust-proof but also waterproof for up to 30 minutes at a depth of 3 feet. Additionally, it features drop resistance and extreme temperature resistance, capabilities not typically found in ordinary phones.

The Cat B100 is equipped with a 2.2-inch 240 x 320 resolution screen and a 3-megapixel camera. Although the internal storage is limited, it supports expandable memory up to 32GB. The Cat B100 measures 123 x 56 x 17.5mm and weighs 136 grams.

Dave Floyd, co-CEO of Bullitt Mobile, said: "The Cat B100 is a practical, tough, and reliable phone. Its rugged durability, long battery standby and talk times make it ideal for people who need to use their phones in extreme environments. The Cat B100 won't let you down."

Clearly, this is not a phone for chatting, browsing the internet, or downloading apps. But if you work in environments like construction sites where expensive smartphones are easily damaged, the Cat B100 might be a good choice. The phone will first launch in Europe and will gradually be available in other markets in the first half of 2014.
