西藏幅员辽阔，公路网密度相对较低，高原地区的桥梁是架通“天路”的咽喉，是西藏人民奔小康的希望。目前，随着交通量的不断增加，公路桥梁负荷日益加重，加上西藏地区的桥梁设计荷载等级普遍偏低、使用环境恶劣的特点，导致桥梁的病害问题日趋突出。这台18米桥梁检测车的“上岗”，加强了研究西藏干线公路典型桥梁病害数据管理系统，对西藏地区桥梁的养护水平，延长桥梁的使用寿命具有重要的现实意义和实用价值，也为西藏地区桥梁的监测和加固水平的提升推波助澜。
