By 2016, the automobile industry in the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone will surpass the 100-billion-yuan mark. The park will form two major 100-billion-yuan industrial clusters in construction machinery and automobiles, host 7 to 10 10-billion-yuan enterprises, achieve an annual output value target of 300 billion yuan and annual tax revenue of 20 billion yuan, preliminarily build itself into the world capital of construction machinery, become a new segment of China's automobile industry cluster, and advance into the top ten national economic and technological development zones.

　　The reporter learned from the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone that, as an enthusiastic response to the municipal party committee's strategic goals of vigorously implementing the "Triple" initiative and enhancing the "Three Quantities," the park will cultivate at least five new 10-billion-yuan enterprises in the next three years. At present, the park has two 10-billion-yuan enterprises, Sany and Zoomlion Construction Crane, while China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, Sunward Intelligent Equipment and CHTC Jove in the park's construction machinery sector all hope to become 10-billion-yuan enterprises by 2016. GAC Fiat, GAC Mitsubishi and Shanghai Volkswagen in the park's automobile sector will also become 10-billion-yuan-level enterprises.

　　Yang Yiwen, secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and secretary of the Changsha County Party Committee, has high hopes for the park's development. He said that competition among development zones across the country is fierce and the park's development is at a stage of intense rivalry. The Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone must focus on construction, concentrate on industry, strive to attract major and strong enterprises, accelerate industrial clustering, and seek to enter the top ten development zones nationwide as soon as possible.

Li Keming, director of the development zone's administrative committee, said, "We must make project construction solid, advance projects under construction as quickly as possible, ensure projects awaiting construction break ground as quickly as possible, and ensure projects under negotiation are signed as quickly as possible." Li Keming disclosed that the park currently has 41 enterprises awaiting construction, and measures are being taken to ensure that 20 new projects break ground and start construction within the year, adding new momentum for a new round of development in the park.
