New Progress on Wenchang Road West Extension Project: Pile Foundations of the West Approach Bridge Over Railway Completed

It is understood that the construction task for the 418 Provincial Road section of the Wenchang Road West Extension Project covers the west approach bridge portion of the Wenchang Road overpass across the Nanjing-Qidong Railway, with a route length of 450 meters and a total of 15 spans. The superstructure consists of 30-meter prestressed

concrete small box girders, and the substructure adopts pile-column piers and abutments with bored cast-in-place pile foundations. Construction commenced on September 18 this year. To date, 100 bridge piles, 19 pier columns, 8 rib plates, 8 tie beams/caps, and 6 precast box girders have been completed. The section is scheduled to complete all works by October 2014.
