Recently, at the construction site of Wanda Plaza in Huangshi, Hubei, Sunward equipment with a total value of nearly 100 million yuan is busy at work, and has won unanimous praise from the construction contractor and the supervision party for its stability, reliability, high efficiency and adaptability to working conditions. This batch of equipment includes 20 Sunward rotary drilling rigs, 2 long spiral full-casing drilling rigs and 6 excavators.

The Huangshi Wanda Plaza project is located on the south side of Huahu Avenue, west of the Municipal Chinese-English School and north of Yan'an Road in Huangshi. It is divided into two parts, a commercial plot and a residential plot, and consists of 24F-30F office buildings, a 15F hotel, a 4F hotel podium, 33F high-rise residences and 2F shops. The residential plot on the south side (under the high-rise residences and commercial podium) has one basement level, while the commercial plot north of Houhedi Road has two basement levels. The site leveling elevation is 20.30 m.

The seismic fortification category of the buildings planned for this project is the standard fortification category. The project importance grade is Grade I, the site grade is Grade II, the foundation grade is Grade II, and the geotechnical investigation grade is Grade A. The site's geomorphic unit belongs to the Yangtze River Grade II terrace, and site leveling work was also being carried out during the investigation period. The local geological structure is complex, consisting of miscellaneous fill, silt interbedded with silty soil, silty clay, medium-coarse sand, gravelly soil, strongly weathered sandstone, moderately weathered sandstone, etc. Such intricate geological conditions make construction difficult, and the pile foundation workload is large. Harsh geological conditions have become the biggest challenge in pile foundation construction. Even before the preliminary geological investigation, a total of 463 exploration holes had to be arranged within the building area, along with 28 static penetration comparison holes. The 20 Sunward rotary drilling rigs and 2 long spiral full-casing drilling rigs used in this project are flagship Sunward products and fully demonstrate their advantages in the Huangshi area with complex geological and hydrological conditions.
