Since Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the imposition of anti-dumping duties on imported cold-rolled stainless steel, 18 Vietnamese steel enterprises have submitted written opinions requesting the Ministry to postpone the anti-dumping duties on imported stainless steel.

According to reports, these enterprises believe that once the anti-dumping duties are implemented, Vietnamese enterprises and consumers will suffer huge losses. At present, the price of stainless steel in Vietnam is 10-20% higher than the international market price; therefore, low-priced steel raw materials from China, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Taiwan region have become the main imported products for Vietnamese steel enterprises. The imposition of anti-dumping duties will lead to an increase in stainless steel import prices, and Vietnamese steel enterprises may suspend steel imports.

Vietnamese steel enterprises suggest that the Ministry of Industry and Trade postpone the imposition of anti-dumping duties on China, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Taiwan region so that domestic steel enterprises can prepare their responses.
