In 2011, the company joined hands with Germany's Herrenknecht AG to introduce and absorb advanced foreign shield machine engineering equipment technology, and successfully developed the "Wuhan No. 1" shield machine, a tunnel boring machine specifically designed for the complex geological conditions of the Dingziqiao section of Wuhan Metro Line 2. It effectively improved excavation efficiency and reduced production costs, making a significant contribution to the construction of Wuhan Metro Line 2.

Section 2 of the Wuhan Metro Line 6 project is located between Sports Center South Station and Jiangcheng Avenue Station, with a single-line length of about 2 kilometers. It mainly passes through clay, silty clay, strongly weathered sandstone, moderately weathered sandstone, and slightly weathered sandstone strata. Some sections are soft on top and hard at the bottom, and the line also crosses Taizi Lake, where water content is abundant. The complex geological conditions make construction in this section difficult and risky, requiring a new shield machine of high quality and high reliability as strong support. The company ultimately won the bid with its solid technology, high-quality service, and strong manufacturing capabilities.

As a fruitful result of the company's comprehensive advancement of the systematic lean management strategy across the entire value chain and its implementation of business model innovation, this tunnel boring-shield machine project received strong support from the group company, fully reflecting the resource advantages of central enterprises in Wuhan. It also further verified the superb production strength of Wuhan-made shield machines and demonstrated the success of the company's strategy of introducing advanced foreign technology, adjusting product structure, and extending the industrial chain.
