研发人员根据上一代吊具的使用情况、以及用户提出的改进建议，对第三代吊具的外形和功能做了较大改进。
从多工况性角度看，与第二代相比，新吊具有俯仰起升联动、活动配重移动两种配平方式供集装箱码头用户选择使用，适应了多种工况下的作业需求；从运输及使用便捷性角度看，与第二代相比，新吊具的配重机构和框架结构可拆分运输，门架吊具部分和动力控制安装部分可整体发运，到达现场只需组装配重机构，无需额外的调试工作；从作业安全性角度看，与第二代相比，框架结构高度降低了25%，集装箱吊点也下降了500毫米，大大降低了吊具作业时的砸箱几率。
该新式吊具的研制，提升了码头作业的适应性、安全性、可靠性，增强了该吊具的市场竞争力。
